NEWARK -- Tuesday, October 14, 1997 -- Explore the high-tech fields of laser optics, environmental science, computer engineering and more at New Jersey Institute of Technologys Fall Open House on Sunday, October 26, on the universitys campus in Newark, N.J.
High school seniors and their families will have a chance to meet with NJIT faculty, staff and students, and explore the wide range of majors available. A full day of activities are planned from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., including: campus tours, laboratory demonstrations, an academic/student services fair, a welcome from Dr. Saul K. Fenster, President of NJIT, workshops on the admissions process and financial aid, and special presentations by each academic department.
Registration will be 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. on the main level of the Hazell Center. The gymnasium, bookstore, main library, and architecture library will be open 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. All activities are free and refreshments will be served throughout the day in the Ballroom and Gallery of the Hazell Center and in University Hall.

Select faculty members from departments in Newark College of Engineering and the College of Science and Liberal Arts will give 30-minute presentations from 1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. and again at 2 p.m. or 2:30 p.m. The Dean of Newark College of Engineering will make a special presentation at 2:45 p.m. and 3 p.m. for students who are "undecided" about which engineering field to pursue. The School of Architecture and the School of Management each will give one presentation beginning at 1:30 p.m.
