NJIT Staff Aids Seton HallThe NJIT residential and counseling staff have spent considerable time, generally their own, on the Seton Hall University campus following the recent residence hall fire that left three dead and dozens injured. The Office of Residence Life coordinated all of the volunteer efforts for Seton Hall, including contacting area colleges and universities and responding to those who contacted Seton Hall and offered assistance. The residence life staff answered phones, contacted parents and students, and organized the check-in process for the students' return to Boland Hall at Seton Hall. Their efforts brought together staff and students from Montclair, Kean and Rutgers universities. The NJIT staff worked in the evenings and on weekends to complete this task. Lynn Riker, director of residence life, and Leroy Thomas, associate dean of student services, were both administrators at Seton Hall's housing and residence life department for several years. The NJIT staff remains available for any assistance Seton Hall may need in the future. The NJIT staff and students who worked at Seton Hall during the aftermath of the residence hall fire were:
