NJIT @ Mount Laurel Campus HappeningsSummer Pre-College Program Huge Success Twenty-four teen-agers from as far away as Hartford, Conn. attended the second annual Senior FEMME summer camp at the NJIT @ Mount Laurel campus. The program designed to encourage seventh- and eighth-grade girls to explore technology, math and science-related careers, was a huge success. The girls learned C++, built a radio from electronic schematics, developed and maintained their own Web page, completed a computer literacy curriculum and solved a variety of math-related problems while learning to utilize a TI 83+ calculator. The campers also toured local industry and relaxed during daylong trips to Baltimores Inner Harbor, Dorney Park and the Franklin Institute. Other highlights of the summer included Maxine Ballon, president of the New Jersey Technology Council, as the keynote speaker at the closing program. New Jersey Network taped the program for future broadcast.
