NJIT Establishes Industrial Research Agreement

OpenCon Communication Systems, Inc. (OCCS), a leading communications solution provider specializing in the development of high-end data and telecommunication system solutions and applications, recently announced an industrial research agreement with NJIT.

"OpenCon Communication Systems has always recognized the value of research," said Jonathan Ma, OCCS chief executive officer. "Our current internal research efforts and technical talent have allowed us to develop the very strong portfolio of solutions we have provided to key industry leading telecommunications customers to date. This agreement allows us to work with NJIT to even further leverage the value of our internal technical and market knowledge and experience."

The yearlong project will include the study of a broad range of issues related to next generation broadband networks. Either OCCS or NJIT may present research results at conferences or symposia once completed. OCCS will utilize the research results to more fully develop a number of concepts it is currently reviewing that will enable service providers to better optimize the advantages of next generation networks.

"Our work with NJIT will provide additional depth and strength to our already robust leadership and engineering teams, and allow us to proceed at an even more accelerated pace in today's ever-changing market."

OCCS is a privately held company located in Piscataway, N.J., with a long and successful record in developing state-of-the-art communication solutions for the global market. The company is a well-respected provider of software products and services for transmission, access, and switching equipment manufacturers and service providers. OCCS engineers have been involved in the development of key components used in Next Generation Digital Loop Carrier products, and have developed world-class protocol and billing mediation solutions. Embedded software developed by OCCS is running on deployed SONET/SDH equipment worldwide.
