NJIT To Honor Alumni, Faculty, Students
The university community is invited to join in honoring distinguished
faculty, alumni and students at the university’s annual Fall Awards
Ceremony, Wednesday, Oct. 3, 3:30 p.m., in the Hazell Center Ballroom.
Among the awards to presented will be:
• The Harlan J Perlis Award for Research to
Rajesh Dave,
professor of mechanical engineering.
• The Board of Overseers Award for Public and Institute Service to
Robert Lynch, professor of English.
• The Robert W. Van Houten Award for Excellence in Teaching to
Deran Hanesian,
professor of chemical engineering.
• Presidential Leadership Award to Muhammad Hasan, a senior majoring in
architecture.
• Master Teacher Awards to Fadi Deek, professor of computer and
information science;
Robert
Dresnack, professor of civil and environmental engineering; Donald
Getzin, associate professor of chemistry;
David Hawk,
professor of architecture and management; and
Murray Lieb, associate
professor of mathematics.
• Distinguished Alumni Medals for Outstanding Achievement to Norma
Clayton, ‘81; Ronald Panitch, ’62; Paul Tinnirello, ’82; and Gene
Tremblay, ’64.
• Teaching Excellence Awards to Osama Eljabri, a teaching assistant in
computer and information science;
Dale
Gary, associate professor of physics; Donald Getzin, associate
professor of chemistry;
Geraldine Milano,
special lecturer in civil and environmental engineering;
Eugene Golub,
professor of civil and environmental engineering;
Lev Krasnoperov,
professor of chemistry;
Voyislav Ristic, adjunct professor in architecture; William
Skawinski, special lecturer in chemical engineering, chemistry and
environmental science; and
Rajpal Sodi,
associate professor of mechanical engineering.
