What is Cars?
The Office of Commuter
Assistance & Resource Services (CARS) is committed to enriching the
commuter experience by providing services, programs, advocacy and
outreach that will help commuter students benefit from the institution's
total education process.

Lockers
Tired of carrying your books with you all day? Then you can rent a
locker in the Campus Center Basement. The fee is only $5.00 for
the entire semester! Don't forget to bring a lock with you.
Don't have one? The NJIT bookstore has an assortment on sale for your
convenience. Anyone interested in a locker please contact Mr. Redd
in the Game room (Campus Center Basement) to sign up.
Commuter Meal Plans
Commuter
students may elect to have a meal plan, the Commuter Meal Plan ($500 for
550 flex dollars) or simply place money into their accounts.
Students wishing to do either options must pay at the NJIT Bursar's
Office, located in the Student Mall below the parking deck, and then
take their receipt to the Gourmet Dining Office in the Campus Center.

Every Tuesday morning you
can grab free coffee, doughnuts, and bagels before heading off to class.
On the first Tuesday of every month French Toast sticks are served along
with the standard menu.

NJIT Vehicle Registration
Each vehicle, to be considered and allowed to park on campus, must be
registered with NJIT's Department of Public Safety. All vehicles
must bear a valid hangtag or temporary dashboard permit which must be
visibly displayed whenever the vehicle is parked on campus. Click

NJIT/Rutgers Shuttle
The
shuttle bus is operated jointly with Rutgers-Newark and provides
transportation for the University community between the two campuses,
major mass transit system, and Harrison and Kearny. As a courtesy,
shuttle service is free to Rutgers and NJIT students who present valid
identification.
NJ TRANSIT Commuters
Students: Ride NJ TRANSIT FREE:
NJ
TRANSIT is offering college and post-secondary students the opportunity
to ride our
system bus,
rail, and
light rail for free for an entire week! (week is still being scheduled
by NJ TRANSIT. All you need is your student ID and a Free Ride
Coupon. Check out the NJ TRANSIT website for the coupon!

TRANSIT STUDENT DISCOUNT:
Benefits of this partnership
include assistance with creating on-campus information centers, outreach
to promote student awareness of NJ TRANSIT options, and an online
student monthly pass (available for bus, rail, or light rail) that is
discounted at 25% off. If you are a student, have your school's
administration contact us to begin a partnership.
Pick up an application from NJ Transit, fill it out and stop by the
Campus Center Information Desk to have it validated for you. You must
be a full time student of NJIT.

QUIK-TIK Program
Quik-Tik offers the convenience of auto-pay combined with online account
management. You will receive a monthly pass directly through the mail
and your credit card is automatically billed. For more information log
on to
my.njit.edu and select the Student
Services tab and look for the NJ Transit Quik-Tik Link.
Council
of Commuting Students
The Council of Commuting
Students office is located in the Campus Center on the Fourth Floor.
If you're looking for a place to unwind before or after class this is
the pace to go. The office has a microwave, television,
refrigerator, movies, and people to hang out with. These unique
students also partake and organize several events throughout the
semester.
