As a university of applied sciences, mathematics, and design, one of NJIT's main goals is to provide its students with relevant, hands-on experience and close participation in meaningful research. In fact, we've developed over a dozen programs to help prepare our students to enter the marketplace and begin making serious contributions to their fields. We've also made it easier for adults throughout New Jersey to continue their education while still working.
But we haven't stopped there: for decades, NJIT has supported entrepreneurship and economic development in New Jersey and the region through community service, small-business incubators, and key research at our many centers and labs.

Continuing and Professional Education
NJIT's extensive range of CPE programs emphasize academic quality and convenience, offering flexible options for bachelor's degrees, master's degrees, academic certificates, and additional professional development. For more than 50 years, we've helped working professionals make the connection between lifelong learning and lifelong employability. Courses are offered on campus at NJIT, online, and at extension sites throughout New Jersey.
Co-ops & Internships
Through cooperative education and internships, NJIT students start to build their resume—and gain hands-on experience in their chosen field—while still earning their degree. But they aren't the only ones who benefit: companies of all sizes in both the private and not-for-profit sectors have found NJIT students invaluable in meeting short-term employment needs and laying the foundation for future recruitment.
