Summer Freshman Orientation

Welcome to NJIT!


ew Student Orientation (NSO) is our required, two-part orientation for incoming first-year students, NSO 1.0 in June and NSO 2.0 at the end of August. 

Both NSO programs are designed to give you the best transition possible to college life at NJITPlease register for the orientation associated with the college of your major. 

Invitations will be e-mailed out after you complete your placement test or submit AP Calculus credit.

NSO 1.0 will provide an initial transition providing you with important connections and resources to be successful at NJIT. At NSO 1.0, you will get the opportunity to:

• Get acquainted with advisors and resources.
• Learn about your major and courses.
• Know about the career and involvement opportunities.
• Explore the campus and make new friends!

Ying Wu College of Computing (CC) July 10 or July 17 (choose one)
College of Architecture and Design (CoAD) July 12 or July 18 (choose one)
College of Science and Liberal Arts (CSLA) July 12 or July 18 (choose one)
Martin Tuchman School of Management (SoM) July 12 or July 18 (choose one)
Out-of-State, International Students, & all others (all majors) August 28, 2018

NSO 2.0

NSO 2.0 will give you an official welcome to the university, learn more about issues related to campus life, meet your first-year seminar class, and engage you in community service opportunities. This is also a required program. NSO 2.0 will be on August 30 through 31.

Ready to register? Once you complete your placement test or receive a test exemption, we will send you an invitation.
