COVID-19 Vaccination Program with University Hospital

Dear NJIT Employees,
I am pleased to announce that University Hospital is assisting our eligible employees with vaccination for COVID-19 at their Ambulatory Care Center located at 140 Bergen Street, Newark, NJ 07103. In order to receive the vaccination the staff member must fit one of the currently defined categories.
The following groups are eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine:
Paid or unpaid persons working or volunteering in a healthcare setting
Residents of long-term care facilities and other congregate settings
Frontline first responders
Persons aged 65 and older
Persons aged 16 to 64 years old who have at least one chronic medical condition that poses high-risk for severe COVID-19:
Cancer
Chronic Kidney Disease
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
Down Syndrome
Heart Conditions
Immunocompromised due to organ transplant
Obesity
Pregnancy
Sickle Cell Disease
Smoking
Type 2 Diabetes
At this time, our partner anticipates capacity to assist non-instructional staff that meet the above criteria with scheduling a vaccine appointment. If you signed up based on the previous communication to Faculty and Instructional Staff, you do not need to sign up again. We ask that priority be given to individuals that are regularly coming to the NJIT campus and interact with students or others regularly. As only an example, individuals in forward facing jobs like advising, counseling, the Dean of Student Office, custodial services, etc. register at this time. ONLY NJIT EMPLOYEES can sign up. This is not open to spouses or dependents.

A member of the University Hospital appointment staff will directly contact all individuals to schedule. WALK-INS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. At the time of scheduling, both the first dose and second dose vaccination date and time will be scheduled. All eligible participants will be required to bring their government issued identification card (e.g. NJ Driver’s License), NJIT identification card, and insurance information. Upon arrival, all visitors will proceed through a temperature screening area and then be directed to the Clinic on the main level of the Center.
