Please be reminded that the record of your COVID-19 vaccination must be uploaded to the Medicat system for verification at NJIT.Medicatconnect.com, a secure and HIPAA-compliant system, by following the steps outlined in this April 22 message to the campus community.
For students electing to receive a single-dose vaccination (Johnson & Johnson), the vaccination must be administered at least two weeks prior to the onset of the Fall semester or moving into campus housing. If receiving a two-dose vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna) the second dose of vaccination must be completed at least two weeks prior to the onset of the Fall semester or moving into campus housing.
For employees electing to receive a single-dose vaccination (Johnson & Johnson), the vaccination must be administered at least two weeks prior to June 28, 2021. If receiving a two-dose vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna) the second dose of vaccination must be completed two weeks prior to June 28, 2021.
Only FDA and WHO authorized vaccines will be accepted, and NJIT will not provide vaccines directly. If you have not done so already, please register with the New Jersey vaccination scheduling system or schedule your vaccination with the provider of your choice. Information specific to international students and additional information on vaccine availability can be found in the May 7, 2021 Vaccination Update.
Emergency Sick Leave and Expanded Family Medical Leave
As a reminder, the extension of Emergency Sick Leave and Expanded Family Medical Leave (guidelines) will end as of May 31, 2021. These guidelines were set to expire December 31, 2020, as defined by the Family First Coronavirus Response Act, but the decision to extend for NJIT employees was based on availability for all higher education workers to be vaccinated. Vaccines now are widely available, including the ability for walk-in vaccinations at the Naimoli Center on NJIT's campus via the Community Vaccination Center.
