VIEW YOUR ASSIGNMENT - First Year Students will be able to view their assignments after room selection is completed in June 2022.  Transfer/Graduate students will be able to view their assignments in mid-July.

Examples

John Doe is a Transfer Student and lives in Maple Hall, room 305A, they move-in on Friday, September 2nd from 4pm-5pm

Jane Smith is a First-Time, First Year Student and lives in Cypress Hall, room 801A, they move-in on Wednesday, August 31st from 11am-12pm

Hayden Abbott is a First-Time, First Year Student and lives in the Forensic Science area in Maple Hall, they move-in on Wednesday, August 31st from 3pm-4pm

Taylor Wright is a returning student and lives in Laurel Hall, room 425A, they are unable to move in on their assigned date/time (Saturday, September 3rd from 10am-11am), they are able to move-in at any other date after September 3rd during the unscheduled arrival time of 7pm-9pm.  Taylor DOES NOT need to contact Residence Life to schedule a later arrival date/time.  They are not able to come earlier than their scheduled move-in date/time in these cases.  

**** Students that arrive earlier then their assigned move-in date/time may be charged a $75 per day unscheduled arrival fee****

MOVING BINS

Moving bins will be available.  Please note that we do not have enough bins to accommodate every student moving in.  We suggest that you bring carts and dollies from home to assist you.  Family members, friends, etc. may assist you with the move-in process.   

IMMUNIZATIONS
The meningitis and COVID-19 vaccine is required for all undergraduate, graduate, and transfer students who attend NJIT and/or are new to University Housing.  If you plan to live on campus, you WILL NOT be allowed to move into, or have access to, on-campus housing if you have not submitted proof of all pre-entrance health requirements including the meningitis and COVID-19 vaccine.  All documents must be submitted to NJIT Health Services portal to allow for document processing.  Students may submit their vaccination information via the Health Services Portal.  Visit Student Health Service for more information.

LATE ARRIVALS
If you have not checked into your room within 48 hours your scheduled check-in date, you will forfeit your room assignment and be charged the cancellation fee as indicated in the terms and conditions of the housing application and contract for fall 2022 through spring 2023.  If you plan to arrive late, please contact our office so we can make a note.

EARLY ARRIVALS
Early arrivals are not permitted.  Please plan your arrival based on the dates listed under Fall 2022 Overview.  

MEAL PLANS
Student meal plans will be activated for use on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at brunch.  For additional information regarding Dining, please contact Gourmet Dining. 

CLASSES
Classes begin on Tuesday, September 6, 2022

HALL/FLOOR MEETINGS
Hall meetings will take place on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 from 7pm-9pm for first year students and on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 for upper-class students

WELCOME EVENTS 

Family Send Off BBQ - August 31, 2022 - 5pm-7pm - Honors Green - First Year Students and their families are invited to our send off BBQ located on the Honors Hall Green.  Bring your appetite!

RHA & NRHH Program - August 31, 2022 - 9pm - Location TBA

Roommates and suite mates will be encouraged to connect and engage in a variety of events during our Week of Welcome. Additional information will be posted through our website and Residence Life's Highlander Hub platform in the coming weeks.

Parking/Unloading during Move-In

During move-in, residents residing in Cypress & Redwood halls may park along Bleeker Street. Residents residing in Laurel and Oak halls may park along Summit Street or utilize the adjacent parking garage. If the gate is closed, simply press the red call button and inform Public Safety you are moving into the residence hall. Greek Village and Honors Hall residents may utilize Greek Way and Colden Streets. Students may not park along Warren Street unless they opt to pay for metered parking.   Maple Hall unloading will occur in the Maple Hall parking deck.  Once your belongings are unloaded you will move your vehicle to the Science & Technology Parking Garage (STPG), located at 42 Wlsey Street.
