Alumni, family and friends are invited to join the NJIT Alumni Association in California for a site tour of the Big Bear Solar Observatory. Enjoy refreshments, followed by a program led by NJIT’s President Dr. Teik C. Lim and Professor Wenda Cao, who is based out of Big Bear Solar Observatory. After the program, join us for a tour of the facility and lunch.

The NSF's Global Oscillation Network Group (GONG) Facility, built by National Solar Observatory at BBSO.
The "Earthshine Dome," currently housing a full-disk H-alpha imaging telescope and an earthshine telescope.
The Goode Solar Telescope (GST):
The telescope desk floor including a description of the GST which is one of the largest aperture, highest-resolution solar telescopes in the world.
The telescope control room showing how the telescope is routinely operated to acquire astronomical data.
The telescope instrument lab where the GST science instruments reside.
