Completion Letter Information

Confirmation letters are available by request for doctoral candidates upon completion of all requirements.  If you need a letter, please send the request by e-mail to  Be sure to include your NJIT ID# and program (e.g., 21212123; Chemistry). 

Commencement Letter

Dear Graduate Student:

Since the May commencement is one of NJIT’s most prominent academic ceremonies that also requires precise preparations, only graduate students who will have completed all degree requirements by May 2017 will be allowed to walk on stage.

If you have already applied for graduation, you will receive notification from the Registrar in early April on your eligibility to participate in the commencement ceremony. If you have not yet applied for graduation, please visit the Office of the Registrar’s Graduation Information webpage. Fill out the application for graduation, sign, and obtain the signature of your advisor as per the instructions on the application. Submit the application to the Office of the Registrar in the Student Mall, or scan and send via email to Ms. Maryann Sawka at

To appeal this policy for participation at the commencement, only for exceptional circumstances, graduate students must email the reasons to by March 31, 2016. If approved, their name will not appear in the online graduation list or the printed commencement program.

Louis Berger Event

Dear Graduate Students:

You are invited to an NJIT event on November 3 to learn about an internship and fellowship opportunity for Master's students (NJIT Campus Center Atrium, 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM). The event announcement is also attached.





The Louis Berger Group, Inc. funds a graduate internship and fellowship program to support NJIT students pursuing a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Architecture, Engineering Management, Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering. The program allows students to be considered for a fellowship award while also taking on a professional summer paid internship overseas with one of the world’s leading consulting organizations.

This program gives graduate students the opportunity to receive tuition funding while pursuing a Master’s degree at NJIT as well as to conduct professional work as summer interns with the Louis Berger Group under the direction of the organization’s senior management in one of its international offices. Graduate students may apply after successfully completing one semester in a Master’s program at NJIT. 

You are cordially invited to an inaugural event organized by NJIT's Graduate Studies Office and Career Development Services. The first two recipients of this award will make a presentation about their internship experience in Doha, Qatar where they worked on a subway station project in preparation for the 2022 FIFA World Cup

Louis Berger Group representatives will be present to answer questions about their national and international activities.

Domestic Graduate Student Orientation

The Domestic Graduate Student Orientation is typically held in late August or early September prior to the start of the Fall semester. This orientation aims to help incoming domestic graduate students get acclimated to graduate education at NJIT.
