Spotlight: Ethicist Randy Cohen, Media Analyst Steve Adubato To Speak at NJIT Conference

New York Times columnist Randy Cohen, media analyst Steve Adubato and Obama Healthcare Transition Team Advisor Peter Pitts will be among the speakers and panelists at an upcoming EMBA 2010 Spring Conference “Public Policy Environment: Business Sector Challenges and Opportunities.”

Sponsored by the NJIT School of Management (SOM), the EMBA 2010 Spring Conference will be held March 15-16, 2010, from 8:15 a.m.-4 p.m. at NJIT and is open to the public. The fee for both days, which includes breakfast and lunch, is $50.

“A new business paradigm is emerging,” says event organizer D. Elaine Frazier, director of the EMBA and graduate programs at SOM. “While no one can predict where this dynamic movement will lead, one thing is certain: there is no more ‘business as usual.’  The conference will address how public policy frames the new rules of engagement. It is designed to afford attendees insight and inside information into navigating through the present turmoil to create new strategies within business sectors, mine new market opportunities, and sustain and continue business growth.”

Four-time Emmy Award winner Randy Cohen, known for his column "The Ethicist" in the New York Times Magazine, has written for “Late Night with David Letterman," as well as numerous newspapers and magazines. He is the author of The Good, the Bad & the Difference (Broadway, 2003).

Peter Pitts, former FDA associate commissioner for external relations, is partner/director of global healthcare at Porter Novelli, president of the Center for Medicine in the Public Interest, and advisor to the Obama Healthcare Transition Team.

A consultant to the FDA, Pitts’ expertise on health care policy and issues appears frequently in The New York Times, The Washington Post and The Wall Street Journal. His book, Become Strategic or Die, co-written with Robert Montgomery (Montgomery, Zukerman, Davis Publishing Inc., 1998) has been recognized as a cutting-edge study of strategic vision and ethical practice.
