Richard J. Codey served as the special guest master of ceremonies. The world-renowned Duprees, who started their 1960s musical careers in Jersey City provided entertainment. >>

The 2006-2007 President's Annual Report, published by NJIT's Office of University Communications, has won platinum awards in the categories of overall annual report and front cover design from the MarCom Creative Awards international competition. Administered by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals, the MarCom awards are the latest for the report, which has also received the Grand Award in the 20th Annual Apex Awards for Publication Excellence Competition, the Gold Award from the Art Director's Club of New Jersey and the 2007 New Jersey (IABC) IRIS Award in the Publications category. >>

NJIT President Robert A. Altenkirch expressed his concern for the victims of the recent earthquake in southwest China in a letter to the Ambassador, Consul General Keyu Peng. "While we hope that there has been no personal impact for any NJIT student from your country, we are fully aware of the scope of the earthquake on May 12. Be assured that we will offer whatever assistance that we can to all individuals at NJIT experiencing grief and loss in the aftermath of such devastation." >>
