NJIT Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

Members of the NJIT Chapter of the Hispanic Organization of Students in Technology/Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (HOST/SHPE) and several NJIT fraternities and sororities kicked off Hispanic Heritage Month 2009 yesterday in the Campus Center Atrium. Student organizations and university departments are offering a full calendar of events to educate the NJIT community about the contributions and experiences of people of Hispanic/Latino descent living in the U.S. Hispanic Heritage Month is coordinated by Campus Center Diversity Programs. NJIT President Serves as Honorary Chairperson of Hispanic American Chamber of Commerce Foundation Dinner

NJIT President Robert A. Altenkirch served as the honorary chairperson of the Hispanic American Chamber of Commerce Foundation of Essex County Ninth Annual Scholarship and Awards Gala Dinner yesterday in the Campus Center Atrium. The Foundation recognizes business, governmental, corporate and individual efforts and accomplishments that positively impact Latino/Hispanic businesses and the Latino/Hispanic community in Essex County.
