Kyle Devitt, Andre Moses and Hagop Bouchakjiane (shown here with NJIT Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Special Lecturer Harry Kountouras and Professor Bernard Koplik) have been awarded 2010 American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Clarke Scholarships. NJIT has won the award five times in the last six years. The scholarship is awarded nationally based on a competitive proposal; six are awarded at $6,000 per winning university. >>

A delegation from Ningguo in the People's Republic of China was named a Sister City of Newark on Nov. 18, 2010 during a special visit to NJIT. Donald H. Sebastian, PhD, senior vice president for research and development, represented Newark during the later signing since city officials were unable to attend. Earlier in the day, the group toured technology laboratories at NJIT to learn more of sustainable urban living and solar energy.  >>

Michele R. Rittenhouse, managing director of the NJIT Theatre Arts Program, has had her play “Red Rover” accepted for the Double X Festival in London this September. Only six American and Canadian plays were chosen for a public rehearsed reading by North American Actors Association (NAAA) members to be presented during the week of Sept. 6-11 at The Webber Douglas Studio Theatre, Central School of Speech and Drama.  >>
