NJIT students that receive veterans educational benefits need to know about several important procedures and policies. If you are veteran or a dependent interested in veterans educational benefits or are currently receiving them, please read the following information carefully.
Students must complete a VA & Military Benefit Request every semester to use benefits. Requests for all Chapters can be completed up to 60 days before the semester begins. There is a week turnaround time once your request is submitted to the office unless there are discrepancies in your selection of courses. Please complete a request form after you register every semester.
In accordance to Title 38 United States Code Section 3679(e) NJIT will not impose any penalty, including the assessment of late fees, the denial of access to classes, libraries, or other institutional facilities, or the requirement that a covered individual borrow additional funds, on any covered individual because of the individual’s inability to meet his or her financial obligations to the institution due to the delayed disbursement funding from VA under Chapter 31 or 33.
