Employer Services

Selecting or retaining appropriate schools to include in your college relations program is critically important to companies seeking to increase their return on investment (ROI).  Among the various criteria used by companies to determine which schools best fit its recruitment strategy are curriculum, enrollment, diversity, reputation, and past success.  To assist organizations in assessing information pertinent to the decision making process, we have compiled and listed information about NJIT programs, students, and graduates in the section entitled Important University Links.  We hope that you find this information useful and that you select NJIT as a target recruitment school.

Career Development Services can help companies fill job openings through Cooperative Education and Internships Programs, Job Fairs, NJIT Civic Engagement, and our Job posting and resume referral.

Lists of Services for Employers:

  • Cooperative Education - Administered through NJIT's Division of Career Development Services cooperative education can boost an organization's productivity and strengthen recruiting efforts. NJIT faculty members review the academic credentials of the student to find the best match between the student and an organization. Students are available full- or part-time year round.

  • On-Campus Recruitment - Employers have the opportunity to interview graduating students and recent alumni. Our system allows recruiters to view resumes and select candidates online. Recruiters must reserve an On-Campus Recruiting date prior to registering for on-line access.

  • Job Posting - This service allows employers to register on-line, update and keep their registration information current, post jobs for students and alumni to view, and select students for On-Campus Recruitment.

  • Career Fair - Employers can have access to a diverse group of students from a broad range of academic majors and degree levels who are seeking full-time, part-time, and summer positions.

  • Civic Engagement - This initiative links students, faculty, and staff directly to community service activities. Students develop personally and professionally by participating in a wide variety of community service projects, as well as gain an understanding that technological development is linked to the social and ethical needs of society.

  • General Internships at NJIT are work experiences that may be related to a student’s major and provide a learning experience.  Work assignments vary in length, and most often coincide with a semester or the summer. Assignments may be paid or unpaid.  At the discretion of the employer, a travel or meal allowance may be given in lieu of wages.  There is no formal faculty involvement in an internship, although a student may choose to consult a faculty member for advice and perspective on the work assignment.

  • NJIT Kauffman Internship Program is an innovative approach for preparing students for business ownership.  Students work in paid entrepreneurial settings during the day.  In the evening they receive classroom instruction through a three credit course that presents the basics of starting a new venture.  The course concludes with the preparation and presentation of a business plan.  Undergraduate and graduate students in selected majors must meet eligibility requirements.
