Gary Thomas Assistantships

  • The Provost Gary Thomas Graduate Assistantship Program 
  • Eligibility: full-time entering PhD students
  • Years 1 & 2: University funded stipend of $25,000 per year, plus tuition and fees
  • Years 3 & 4: Grant funded stipend of $25,000 per year, plus additional $2,000 university award
  • Nominations are made by chairs and deans with concurrence by the Vice Provost of Graduate Studies

Cullimore Doctoral Fellowship

  • Goal: assist deserving members of the teaching staff of Newark College of Engineering in their professional development by financing in part or in whole the expenses of their doctoral studies
  • Award selection is made by the Vice Provost of Graduate Studies based on suggestions from faculty and staff
  • Typically in excess of $5,000 for the year

Class of 1958 Fellowship

  • Qualification for recipients: excellent research and communication skills, strong academic achievement at the undergraduate level and leadership potential as evidenced by extracurricular and/or community activities  
  • Application: before March 1st to the Vice Provost of Graduate Studies
  • Award typically over $3,000 per year

Kupfrian Fellowship

  • Qualifications: Must be a graduate student seeking a masters or doctoral degree in computer and information related disciplines. Must demonstrate academic excellence and promise for a career devoted to the advancement of computer science or engineering and information related disciplines
  • Award selection is made by the Vice Provost of Graduate Studies based on suggestions from faculty and staff
  • Award amount will depend on endowment annual interest
