NJIT Day 2008 Posts Record Attendance

An estimated 3,000 students, faculty, staff, alumni and their families participated in NJIT Day 2008, the university's annual fall festival, on October 11. Highlights of this year's event, which recorded the largest attendance in its five-year history, included carnival rides and game booths, The Young Alumni Club Chili Cook-off, women's soccer, Highlander Games, and computer game expo. "It was, by far, the largest event we have held on campus excepting commencement," said NJIT Dean of Students Jack Gentul. "So many people worked so hard to make the event a success—their efforts and the outcome has made us all proud to be a part of this community." >>
Since childhood, video games have fascinated NJIT adjunct professor D.J. Kehoe, a 28-year-old adjunct professor at NJIT and recent alumnus. >>
NJIT Hosts SHCC Annual Convention Expo & Career Fair

NJ Governor Jon S. Corzine delivered the keynote speech today at the Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey’s 17th Annual Convention Expo & Career Fair at NJIT. The governor lauded NJIT’s role in contributing to the state’s economic development through its business incubator and other programs. Henry Ross, NJIT Chief of Staff, provided welcoming remarks. “Like the statewide Hispanic Chamber, NJIT is an institution where the rubber hits the road when it comes to economic development,” Ross said. “We’re an institution committed to practical results—and to real-world business models.”
