Participants accepted to the program will…

• Participate in an academic year research experience from during the 2011 – 2012 school year.
• Be part of a research group, including practicing and pre-service teachers with graduate students and faculty, engaged in studies of pharmaceutical particulate and composite systems.
• Develop and enhance skills and knowledge needed for scientific and engineering investigations.
• Collaborate on the development of standards-based lessons and modules that can be integrated into their classroom practice.

Stipend: Dependent upon hours of participation and contingent upon full participation in all activities. Continuation of participation through a 2012 summer program may also be available.

Eligibility: The Academic Year RET program is designed for pre-service high school science, technology, or pre-engineering teachers.

*The program will begin December 1, 2011, or shortly thereafter. The hours can be flexible, and will be set by the availability and needs of the participant and the research mentors.
