Congratulations on your decision to make NJIT housing your home away from home!
Eligible first-year students can request to live in the Albert Dorman Honors College, Cypress, and Redwood Halls while sophomores through seniors can live in all residential communities. Graduate students enjoy apartment-style housing in Oak Hall, Maple or Laurel Halls.

Please review and follow the steps outlined below. Residence Life does not require students to pay a housing deposit. The only deposit needed is the one-time $250 university admissions deposit.
- Create your UCID and password
- Once your UCID and password are approved will apply online for housing
- Complete the necessary personal information on the application.
- Single rooms are not likely to be available for new students to the residence halls.
- Review the terms and conditions of the housing applications and contract. Terms and Conditions 2023-2024.
- You will know you were successful in submitting your online application if you receive an immediate confirmation letter. The confirmation letter will be sent to your NJIT email.
- Transfer and Graduate students may be placed on a wait list for housing. Students on the wait list are assigned to housing based on the distance to campus, date of application and student need.
- First time, First Year students are guaranteed housing if they apply by May 1st. If you apply after this date you may be placed on a wait list for housing. Students on the wait list are assigned to housing based on the distance to campus, date of application and student need.
- Transfer and Graduate student room assignment information will be sent to students in mid-July or in January after the holidays.
- First time, First Year students will participate in the Online Room Selection process which is held in the summer. More information about this process will be posted to the website.
