Special Interest Communities provide an environment that enhances motivation to learn, stimulates learning in specific areas of interest, and offers opportunities to work closely with staff and faculty. NJIT has many different communities that students can participate in.
Cypress Hall
4th floor – Architecture & Design Special Interest Community (First Year & Upper class) One person in each room must be an Architecture major to reside on the floor
5th floor - Engineering One person in each room must be an Engineering major to reside on the floor
All Floors - First Year Connections (FYC)
Honors Hall
3rd floor & a portion of the 4th floor - First Year Honors Students
Oak Hall
8th Floor – Single Graduate Housing Students living on the graduate floor must be enrolled in a graduate program for the Fall 2022/Spring 2023 or must be 23 years old at the beginning of the Fall 2022 semester.
Maple Hall
Forensic Science Area - Students must be a Forensic Science major. This LLC will house 10-20 students, it will be a mix of upper class and first year students
Entrepreneurship Area - This community invites entrepreneurially minded first year and upper class students in all disciplines who embrace and thrive on creativity, innovation and big ideas.
