CENTER FOR COUNSELING AND PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES

“Parent Roles in Helping with Stress and Personal Growth” The college years are a time for tremendous growth for students as well as their parents.  However, they also can be quite stressful for both.  In this workshop we will discuss the stressors that students often experience, coping strategies for parents and tips for helping your child deal with the stress of college.


STUDENT HEALTH SERVICES

The NJIT Student Health Services mission is to enhance the academic success of our students by providing high quality and accessible health care and promoting health lifestyle practices that support the achievement and maintenance of lifelong health and well-being. The SHS is open five days a week to provide care for all students on campus regardless of their insurance coverage.  We are also responsible for insuring compliance with NJ State Law and NJIT policy regarding compliance with immunizations for all students.  Students must submit immunization records to SHS or they risk being de-registered or having a hold place on their registration account.  The information is this presentation is vital to the success of your student on our campus.  You may contact our office if you have any questions. 


NUTRITIONALLY BALANCED MEALS

Gourmet Dining believes in providing nutritionally balanced meals with a wide variety of options. We encourage our customers to eat healthy and teach them how to do so by the following: Nutrition Information at all food stations, Dietician available for questions, Wide variety of healthy options, Healthy eating contests, Purchasing high quality and organic foods, Teach how to properly prepare dishes in a healthy way at self-serve stations, and Teach how to maximize nutrients in meals.


CENTER FOR FIRST YEAR STUDENTS

This workshop will discuss some of the various concerns that your student may be experiencing while adjusting to college life at NJIT, and will offer suggestions and resources to assist them with their transition to college.


CENTER FOR ACADEMIC AND PERSONAL ENRICHMENT (CAPE)

“This session will provide an overview of factors related to student success focusing primarily on motivation, discipline, and problem solving skills.  This session will also provide a brief overview of the academic resources available on campus.”


CAREER DEVELOPMENT SERVICES

Parents know the effort it takes for their child to succeed academically.  At the end of four years, the reward is a hard-earned, well deserved bachelor’s degree.  Wouldn’t you like to know that your new graduate will be prepared for the job search and ready to begin a career, in addition to acquiring that new degree?  Please join us for an information session for parents and guardians so that you will be familiar with the array of services and programs provided by Career Development Services.


BURSARS OFFICE & FINANCIAL AID OFFICE: (coming soon)

At the Financial Aid and Bursar session, you will learn how to access your son or daughter’s bill as well as become familiar with the available payment plans. Financial Aid will review the types of aid available to pay down your bill and the critical deadlines to receive the maximum in aid.


OFFICE OF RESIDENCE LIFE: (coming soon)

"Living on Campus and the New Warren Street Village" This workshop will be directed towards current families with students living on campus as well as families considering campus housing for the future.  We will share the highlights of the Warren Street Village that features the Dorman Residential College Residence and Greek Organization housing.
