The NJCEP research program combines four different interdisciplinary areas:

• mechanical processing,
• supercritical fluid processing,
• hydrothermal processing, and
• microarc processing

To produce three types of engineered particles:

1. coated particles that have a layered structure
2. designer particles with controlled size or morphology
3. composite particles that have a homogeneous structure

A number of associated research activities are also undertaken.
