New Jersey Forensic Science Education Conference
NJIT has the only forensic science degree program in New Jersey accredited by the Forensic Science Education Programs Accreditation Commission (FEPAC) of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences. The partnership of our Center for Pre-College Programs and Jordan Hu College of Science and Liberal Arts uniquely positions us to support forensic science education at the pre-college level, including teachers’ professional development.
The 4th Annual New Jersey Forensic Science Education Conference to be held at NJIT took place in Summer 2025. NJFSEC is designed to increase middle and high school teachers' knowledge of the forensic sciences and to assist them as they develop challenging, innovative curricula for forensic science courses.
Each year we develop a new NJFSEC program led by university professors and practitioners. It emphasizes hands-on, classroom-ready labs in Forensic Biology, Chemistry and Crime Scene Investigation, utilizing our custom-built Forensics and Crime Scene Laboratories. Each day features a lunchtime speaker expert in an area of forensics. Special sessions led by high school science teachers experienced in teaching forensics provide an opportunity to network and develop your own curricula. View links below for highlights of past programs.
The 5th Annual NJFSEC will be held June 30, July 1 and 2, 2026. June 30th will focus on topics for teachers new to teaching forensic science. Registration will begin in late January. We hope you will join us!
