Finances Matter

   A Paid Deposit Opens the Door to NJIT

Your deposit ensures your acceptance is complete.  For your convenience you may process this transaction online via

   Fall Tuition and Fee Bill

Your tuition and fee statement will be posted to your Highlander Pipeline account in early August. If you are not paying your bill yourself, you are responsible for setting up “Authorized Payers.”  See the NJIT Bursar's website for more information:

Academic Essentials                                                    

   Course Placement   

Upon deposit all first year students will be placed in GUR (General University Requirement) courses based on SAT/ACT scores, high school academic performance, math placement test and curriculum requirements for specific majors.

  Advanced Course Placement Credits

Make sure you have selected NJIT to receive all of your Advanced Placement Scores including any tests taken prior to your senior year.   College level courses taken during high school requires submission of an official tanscript.

  Change of Major

If you were admitted to NJIT with a major you no longer wish to pursue, you must send an email to by June 15 to have your request considered. 

  Purchase or Rent Textbooks in Advance

Students can order their textbooks online from our bookstore and have the books wrapped and ready for you in the fall.  Please look for an email message with the subject: “How to get your class schedule” in August with instructions on how to order your books.

First Year Connections

  Attend First Year Connections

Upon receiving your deposit, you will be invited by email to First Year Connections (FYC).  FYC is a required interactive orientation program.  During the program, you will meet current NJIT students, faculty and staff and explore the academic and social skills necessary to be successful at NJIT.   For further information, click here.

Parent Connections

  Parents are invited to attend Parent Connections

Parent Connections are scheduled on the same day as your son/daughter orientation. Parent Connections is designed to educate parents on how to support your son/daughter during their first year study.  For more information on parent services at NJIT please go to:

An online tool for parents authorized by your student to view financial information and enter transactions on behalf of your son/daughter.  This includes bursar office communications such as students schedule and bills will be sent through email to those authorized by the student.  For further information please go to

You will need access to many different programs and systems while at NJIT.  To access these systems you need to set up your UCID and create your password at https:///

Students seeking housing or academic accommodations (such as additional test-taking time) due to a physical or learning disability or medical condition need to provide documentation and schedule an interview with the Disability Services Coordinator.   Information and forms are located at

All students are required to have health insurance.  If you are already insured, you can waive NJIT’s Health Insurance.  See website for waiver deadline.  Detailed information is located at:
