Blood Drive

Wednesday, September 16, 2008
Campus Center Atrium
10 am-4 pm

Why Give? We all expect blood to be there for us, but barely a fraction of those who can give, do. Yet sooner or later, virtually all of us will face a time of great vulnerability in which we will need blood. And that time is all too often unexpected. From its beginning, the American Red Cross has formed a community of service, of generous, strong and decent people bound by beliefs beyond themselves. The honor, spirit and resources of the American people comes forth with neighbors helping neighbors in need - during earthquakes, floods, fires, storms - and also for the deeply personal and often quiet disasters that require a gift of blood. Breast Cancer Walk

Breast Cancer Walk – Newark
Sunday, October 19, 2008
Campus Center
8:00 am

Hope Starts Here... In 2007, more than 500,000 participants in 130 cities across the country joined the American Cancer Society in our united fight against breast cancer. Together we raised more than $50 million to help fight this disease. More than just the name of an event, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer refers to the vital progress the American Cancer Society has made through research, education, advocacy, and patient services. Because of people like you, patients, survivors, and their families will continue to benefit from the Society's critical programs. Whether it is your first Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk or your tenth, we are happy you have chosen the American Cancer Society. We look forward to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer ...with you!

Form your team or sign up with the NJIT Team. We challenge you or your team to raised $100.

St. Jude Children's Hospital

Culture Remix – International Day 2008
Thursday, November 13, 2008
Campus Center
8:00 pm - 12:00 am

St. Jude is unlike any other pediatric treatment and research facility anywhere. Discoveries made here have completely changed how the world treats children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases. We are where some of today's most gifted researchers are able to do more science, more quickly. Where doctors across the world send their toughest cases and most vulnerable patients. Where no one pays for treatment beyond what is covered by insurance, and those without insurance are never asked to pay. We've built America's 3rd-largest health-care charity, with a model that keeps the costs down and the funds flowing, so the science never stops. All patients accepted for treatment at St. Jude are treated without regard to the family's ability to pay. (see flyer)
