NJIT Architecture Students Visit Headquarters of Building Industry Leader

Students from NJIT’s College of Architecture and Design recently visited the Trespa Design Center in New York City, the headquarters of Trespa North America, Ltd.  Trespa North America, Ltd. is the subsidiary of Trespa International B.V., a leading innovator in the field of architectural materials, recognized internationally as a premier developer of high quality panels for exterior cladding, decorative façades, and interior surfaces.  This event kicked-off the semester activities of an advanced CoAD architecture design studio, taught by Assistant Professor Matt Burgermaster, which is focused on the creation of innovative design and construction solutions for coastal communities in New Jersey through collaboration with the building industry.  Activities included a presentation by Shawn Torbert, Trespa Façade sales specialist, and an introduction by Burgermaster to the various types of resilient design problems and strategies that the students will explore this semester.
