SOM Associate Professor Publishes Articles in Shanghai Securities News

Zhipeng (Alan) Yan, associate professor of finance in NJIT’s School of Management, recently published two articles in Shanghai Securities News (SSN).  “Don’t Ignore the Gorilla before Your Eyes: Investment Risk and Scam” investigated a Ponzi scheme of which his mother was a victim and the “Money Management” section of SSN used a full-page to discuss the article, “Singapore DBS Bank Suspected of Selling a Fraud Financial Product Whose Expected Return Is Negative,” which became an instant hot topic in China.  Shortly after, the China Banking Regulatory Commission said it would soon announce regulatory rules to protect the financial interests of consumers and those financial institutions should not conceal the risks of financial products nor exaggerate their benefits and the China Securities and Exchange Commission opened a new hotline to handle complaints from investors and provide advice and suggestions to them.
