Allan Pasternak of BAMCO, Inc. gives NJIT architecture students a tour.
A group of students from NJIT’s College of Architecture and Design recently visited BAMCO, Inc. in Middlesex, a leader in the design and fabrication of state-of-the-art composite metal wall panel systems and other building envelope products. Activities included a presentation by Allan Pasternak, co-founder of BAMCO, on the company’s unique architectural products and advanced production methods. A tour of the company’s engineering department and fabrication facilities gave students the opportunity to see computer numerical control (CNC) fabrication technology and lean manufacturing processes at work. The event was organized as part of an advanced architecture design studio, taught by Assistant Professor Matt Burgermaster, focused on the creation of resilient design solutions for coastal communities in New Jersey through collaboration with the building construction industry.
