Several NJIT students participated in the Materials Science and Technology (MS&T) 2013 Conference and Exhibition held in Montreal, Canada at the end of October. The event brought together scientists, engineers, students, suppliers and more to discuss current research and technical applications, and to shape the future of materials science and technology. Chiranajivi Lamsal, PhD student in the Department of Physics, presented his talk on "Modeling and Simulation of Optical Properties of Vanadium Oxides based Bolometer Structures." El Mostafa Benchafia, PhD student in the Materials Science and Engineering program (MTSE), discussed his results on "Properties of Polymeric Nitrogen." Sarang Muley, PhD student in MTSE, shared his work with the audience on "Modeling and Simulation of Optical Properties of Carbon Related Materials and Structures." Georgejulian (George) Papavieros, MS (Physics), and Zhicheng Wen, MS (MTSE), served as session monitors.
