WHO: New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) is hosting the Technology and Entrepreneurship Talent Network (TETN) opening ceremony to kick off Industry Week that focuses on the latest trends in these two industry sectors. Technology & Entrepreneurship is one of nine New Jersey Talent Networks established by the NJ Department of Labor and Workforce Development to connect employers, job seekers, the state’s One Stop Career Centers, and educational institutions to help grow the economy through workforce development. TETN assists those who want to start or grow a business in New Jersey, or who want to pursue a career in technology areas such as IT/software, communications, life sciences, electronics/advanced manufacturing, and energy/environment.WHAT: NJIT will host the opening ceremony of the TETN Industry Week with keynote speakers the Honorable Aaron R. Fichtner, PhD., Deputy Commissioner of the NJ State Department of Labor and Workforce Development, and Dennis Bone, Director of the Feliciano Center for Entrepreneurship at Montclair State University and former president of Verizon. NJIT will host a “People 2 BusinessTM” Meet Up following the kick-off session, connecting mid and upper-level volunteers with entrepreneurial companies, giving the former opportunities to contribute their skills while helping entrepreneurs grow their companies.
