NJIT's Maurie Cohen Appointed to Serve as Mentor with Central Asia and Afghanistan Research Fellowship Program

Maurie Cohen, Associate Professor in the Department of Humanities and Director of the Science, Technology, and Society Program at NJIT, has been appointed to serve as a mentor with the Central Asia and Afghanistan Research Fellowship (CAARF) Program funded by the International Development Research Council (Canada) and administered by the Mountain Societies Research Institute (MSRI) of the University of Central Asia (UCA) located in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic. He will be working with Said Ahmad Najafizada, a PhD student in population health at the University of Ottawa, on a project entitled “An Evaluation of an Off-farm Livelihood Skill to Create Sustainable Community in Rural Bamyan, Afghanistan.”
