Pedro J. Claudio Jr., '15, of Jersey City, an information technology major at NJIT, was selected to participate in the Institute for Leadership Education and Development (I-LEAD®) program.

"I am excited to attend and participate in the I-LEAD® because I want to use the experience to not only grow as an individual but return to my campus and help my organization and other involvements develop as well," Claudio said. "It would be great to hear stories and lessons from others about leadership practices so I can continue to live the legacy of the Lisa A. Pierce Center for Leadership.”

Claudio currently serves as a leadership coordinator for the Lisa A. Pierce Center for Leadership and is a brother of Lambda Upsilon Lambda Fraternity. In his role as a leadership coordinator, he is in charge of running and overseeing a leadership program and supervising seven student volunteers who present workshops for the campus community on self-knowledge/awareness, diversity and social justice, organizational leadership, and many more. Additionally, he helps to implement programming for the office that is geared toward the Social Change Model of Leadership.

The I-LEAD®) program was designed to emphasize the key concept areas of leadership, community development, and change and offers an opportunity for college students to focus on personal growth and other issues facing our world.
