UNDERSTANDING HOW NEW JERSEY DRIVERS VIEW ROAD CONGESTION

In a project supported by the New Jersey Department of Transportation, Lazar Spasovic. director of IITC and NCTIP, and Jakub Rowinsk, senior transportation engineer at IITC,  designed a web-based survey to gauge the public's perception of congestion. Officially released by the NJDOT, the survey received considerable exposure resulting in a significant number of responses. Through the survey, the research team found that New Jersey drivers are tolerant of congestion but experience a great deal of stress while driving. The survey also identified the most congested locations in the state as perceived by survey respondents. Read a press release about the survey.
