	Moving the Edge: The Inauguration of Joel Stuart Bloom Inaugural festivities encompassed three days of events, beginning on September 12 with the University Convocation and a day of celebration for students. September 13 was a day focused on faculty and included a symposium by three new members of the faculty. The Inauguration took place on September 14, and festivities came to a close with a formal gala for family and special friends of Dr. Bloom. Read more.
	Moving the Edge in Academic and Campus Life Improving the quality of life on campus encompasses both physical improvements – construction and renovation of facilities – and enhancements to the academic programs. Read more.
	Moving the Edge in Sustainable Systems Environmental science and engineering have been top priorities at NJIT since the opening of the York Center in the 1980s. Today, the focus encompasses sustainability in building and design, infrastructure and transportation, as well as green chemistry and ecology. Read more.
	Moving the Edge in Life and Healthcare Science and Engineering Biomedical Engineering has emerged as one of NJIT’s strongest departments with nationally recognized research programs in such areas as tissue engineering and rehabilitation medicine. An emphasis on the health sciences has become as an intrinsic part of education and research throughout the university, encompassing health care, life sciences, and pharmaceuticals. Read more.
	Moving the Edge in Digital 'Everyware' As wireless devices, social networks, and digital design become increasing intrinsic elements of our culture, NJIT’s digital ‘everyware’ researchers are working to create the tools to help these new technologies function efficiently and safely, and to evaluate the impact of new technologies on society. 	Celebrating Next Steps Although postponed by Hurricane Sandy, NJIT’s annual black-tie benefit dinner, Celebration, emerged in January as a festive evening of dinner and entertainment, and recognition for some of the university’s most generous supporters. Read more.
