Subject: Tsunami Disaster
When the Tsunami struck last week, I was, as you were, overwhelmed with the enormity of the tragedy. My thoughts and sympathies quickly turned to the sisters, brothers, parents, children, extended family, friends and colleagues of many of our southeast Asian and Asian-American students and faculty.
Beyond expressions of sympathy, I would ask the university community to consider responding to this epic devastation through support of a fund that has been created for rescue and recovery efforts. If you choose to contribute, please send or bring funds to the Dean of Students Office. Checks should be made out to “NJIT Tsunami Relief Fund.” These funds will be sent to the American Red Cross, which is assisting with the rescue and recovery efforts.
