Subject: Middle States Periodic Review Report evaluation

As you may know, NJIT is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.  The normal accreditation process involves on-site evaluation every ten years, with a Periodic Review Report due five years after a reaffirmation of accreditation following an on-site evaluation.  Our Periodic Review Report on the current accreditation cycle, which can be found at the NJIT Institutional Research and Planning report web site, http://www.njit.edu/irp/reports/index.php, was submitted in June of this year.  We recently received the evaluative reports of the Periodic Review Report, the Fiscal Analysis and the External Reviewer’s Report, and these are posted on the above web site as well.  The Commission takes final action on accreditation status in November.

While the evaluative reports note some of our challenges, the reviewers have a very favorable opinion of NJIT, its fiscal management, academic programs, research and development activities, and planning and assessment efforts, to name a few areas noted.  Thanks for your many contributions that contribute significantly to successful accreditation reviews.

Bob
