Subject: FY12 Budget Submission
In the Budget Request for Fiscal Year 2011, the current fiscal year, knowing the fiscal constraints faced by the State, we did not make any priority requests above maintenance of a level base appropriation. Although the State’s economic condition is not likely to be substantially different in FY12 as compared to FY11, we included in the FY12 Request three Budget Priority Requests so that OMB is fully aware of critical needs. These Budget Priority Requests, in addition to the request for level base funding, include funding to enhance Library technology and increase the number of journal and database subscriptions, to enhance the campus-wide technology infrastructure, and to provide health insurance benefits for Graduate Assistants in order to bring parity to benefits available to Graduate Assistants at other public universities in New Jersey.
Also included in the Budget Request each year is a Capital Request. The list of Capital Projects totals seventeen, the top three priorities being major maintenance projects, renovation of the Central King Building, and computing network up grades.
We will keep you posted as the budget process for Fiscal Year 2012 continues.
