Assistant/Associate/Full Professor - Biochemistry

Position Summary:  Professor in Biochemistry with experience and scholarly achievements in cellular systems(broadly defined) on the molecular level. Methodological expertise may include, but not limited to, chemical biology, biochemistry, genomics, proteomics, molecular biology, or cell biology. Candidates should hold a PhD in Chemistry or closely related field. Candidates with a track record of independent funding and publications in high impact journals will be given the highest consideration. Successful candidates will be expected to run a vibrant collaborative program supported by external funding. Teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels will be required.   Additional functions include service activities for the department and university. 

Prerequisite Qualifications: PhD in Chemistry or closely related fields with a record of scientific achievement.

At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be excepted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position. 

Essential Characteristics: Excellent communication skills; self-starter with the ability to establish and direct an independent research program. Ability to attract external funding.

Assistant/Associate/Full Professor  - Chemistry & Environmental Science

We seek outstanding candidates at all ranks starting August 2013 with experience and scholarly achievements in sustainable systems (broadly defined). Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in Environmental Science or closely related scientific field. Interested applicants working on problems in all aspects of environmental chemistry will be considered. Candidates with interest in atmospheric or aquatic systems and can link to broader questions of sustainability systems and public health are especially encouraged to apply. Within the bioenvironmental area an example may be to use genomic approaches to (1) identify, analyze or develop methods using enzymes or microorganisms that can be used to create biofuels, fine chemicals, and other products or (2) understanding the natural environment that integrates chemical (physical), geochemical, and biological processes, as they pertain to human health or environmental implications. Candidates with a track record of independent funding and publications in high impact journals will be given the highest consideration.
