Assistant or Associate or Professor of Information Systems (Job posting # 0601256; Apply now)

Full-time, tenured or tenure-track appointment at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.

Appropriate areas of expertise include, but are not limited to, digital everyware and human-centered computing.

Candidates must possess an earned doctorate in a relevant discipline, a demonstrated potential for original research, and a record of quality teaching that merits appointment at the appropriate rank. Candidates must also be qualified to teach introductory and advanced courses in their areas of expertise. Grant experience is highly preferred. 

At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be excepted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.

The successful candidate will contribute to and enhance existing research and educational programs that relate to Human-Centered Computing and Digital Everyware, as well as foster interdisciplinary collaboration.

Department Chair (Job posting # 0601266; Apply now)

The chair is responsible for the effective operation of the department; in charge of developing, implementing and assessing department goals and pedagogical objectives; providing leadership to ensure accreditation, academic program development and student advisement, as well as excellence in research, teaching and academic service; creating and maintaining a collegial and collaborative atmosphere; and chairing department meetings and the department Promotion and Tenure committee. 

The chair must ensure effective management of the accreditation process, the department, hiring and mentoring of faculty, adjuncts, graduate students, staff and student workers; provide recommendations on hiring, tenure, promotion, merit, release time, sabbatical and other leaves of absence, appointment or recommendation for appointment of departmental faculty members to serve on Department and University committees; develop and execute student recruiting plans, coordinate with University Admissions, and ensure the catalog is kept current; manage the departmental budget and allocation of resources including teaching assignments and release time; participate on the Committee for Academic Affairs and other committees and activities both internally and externally with industry and government; and teach one or two courses a year. 

Candidates must possess an earned doctorate in a relevant discipline, a demonstrated research record (publications and grants), teaching experience, and strong leadership experience. Candidates must have credentials and experience that merit appointment at the Associate or Full Professor rank.
