Assistant or Associate or Professor Management

SOM is an AACSB accredited school with undergraduate and master level programs that is featured in the 2011 Princeton Review's The Best 300 Business Schools. As part of New Jersey's science and technology university, SOM focuses on the management, financing and commercialization of technology. NJIT's Enterprise Development Center, one of the largest business incubators in the mid-Atlantic region, provides a real world learning lab for its students and faculty, allowing them to engage in activities to accelerate commercialization of technology and conduct research on management models and theories. The school has approximately 700 students and thirty faculty and teaching staff. 

The main duties for the position include research, teaching and service/outreach. Experience with funded research is a highly desirable attribute (including past and current records of success in completing RFPs from federal and/or local governments and industry). Experience in creation of, and/or involvement with, economic development centers, and active participation in advising students is also desirable. 

Applicants must have a PhD or DBA in business or other business-related disciplines from AACSB-accredited institutions; a strong publication record (or a substantial research plan if at the assistant level) in areas broadly related to innovation and entrepreneurship, or marketing research focused on innovation and new product development. 

Research background and interests aligned with the University interdisciplinary thematic areas listed in the University 2010-2015 Strategic Plan (Sustainable Systems, Life Science and Engineering, and Digital "Everyware") is desirable.

Teaching experience in entrepreneurship, marketing and/or related areas is also preferred.

At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be excepted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
