Successful candidates should have an earned PhD. in mechanical, industrial or materials engineering or closely-related field and possess a strong enthusiasm and ability to teach broadly within the department. We are seeking outstanding candidates with strong research interests with proven research experience and scholarly accomplishments in the following areas:
-Thermosciences and Thermofluids-applications in energy technologies, renewable energy and storage systems
-Advanced processes and materials-applications in biofuel-based technologies, energetic materials, such as lithium and fuel-cell materials-process orientation, considered desirable
-Robotics and Mechatronics-sensing and controls with applications in autonomous systems, biomechancial and healthcare devices
-Engineering Management Systems-operations research and management systems with applications in energy and/or healthcare management systems including strategic decision support systems and/or innovative smart grid management considered desirable
-Sustainable Systems Design and Engineering-dynamic systems analysis and mechanical design with applications in sustainability and energy, advanced integrated design, production and innovation
At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be excepted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
