Graduate Council
The Graduate Council reviews all new graduate courses and new graduate programs, policy issues concerning graduate students including admission policies, the administration of graduate programs on a program or departmental level and of graduate studies in general. The council serves as a forum for discussion and resolution of any issue concerning graduate students and programs at NJIT.
New or substantially revised graduate courses may not enter the catalog without approval of the Graduate Council. New or substantially revised graduate programs are, in general, reviewed by the Graduate Council prior to consideration by the Committee on Academic Affairs. The Graduate Council reviews new course and program proposals in depth and concerns itself with both the workability of the proposals and the maintenance of the intellectual integrity of the university. The Graduate Council reports to the Provost. For more information on graduate programs at NJIT please visit the Office of Graduate Studies web page.
