APPLYING FOR ON-CAMPUS HOUSING
Please review the information and resources below to assist you during our first-year room selection process. The following process is for incoming first-time, first year students. Transfer and Graduate students will be assigned their rooms and emailed the assignment information beginning mid-July. Please be sure to read your NJIT email on a regular basis as this is how we will communicate with you.

2026-2027 First-year Student Room Selection Timeline
Did not get to attend the virtual first year room selection information session? Watch the recording HERE.
Your lottery timestamp determines the specific date and time within open room selection (July 7-10) that you are able to select your room. Lottery times are assigned in order housing applications were received.
First Year Albert Dorman Scholars looking to reside in Martinson Hall must report their desired living mates by June 22nd. Priority for housing in Martinson goes to Albert Dorman Scholars. If space permits, Dean Scholars are also eligible. Martinson Hall assignments will be made and emailed out in early July.
Honors Scholars may report their desired living mates by submitting a "Request" in the Housing.Cloud Resident Portal HERE.

First Year students participating in open room selection to select a room in Redwood or Cypress can match with desired roommates and suitemates via Housing.Cloud. Students desiring to reside together must match with each other prior to selecting a room.
Students begin selecting their fall rooms based on their priority number.
