Angel Cruz is a freshman majoring in Communications. He has lived in Jersey City his entire life and graduated from William L. Dickinson High School. This is his first time being accepted into the Connections Miniversity program. Major/Graduation Year:
Communication and Media. 2012
Hometown:
Jersey City
Why NJIT?
I was accepted, and at first I wanted to go into an engineering field. I don’t completely know where I stand as of now.
Why Communications?
I switched to Communications because I believe it would better suit what I want to do in life.
What do you like best at NJIT?
Friendly people, good community, decent amount of events.
Why Connections Miniversity?
I went through it twice, and I would like to be apart of the “welcoming committee” that the new incoming freshman see.
Clubs & Organizations:
I’m in the Radio club ( WJTB) and I’m joining the Chess club.
Greatest Accomplishment:
Won an award for being in the Drama Club in high school, honor roll as well.
Career Goals:
To be the best at what I become. If I stick with my Communications route, being on TV wouldn’t be a bad idea. Could go as far as movies too.
Favorite Music:
I tend to listen to rock more, but I also like techno.
Favorite Movie:
Somehow continues to change as time passes... let’s go with an old favorite and say Joe’s Apartment.
Favorite Book:
Can’t choose a book, but I can choose a “Cycle.” This would be the Inheritance cycle by Christopher Paolini. The books included are: Eragon, The Eldest, Brisingr, and the 4th is to be released.
Favorite Class:
It was actually my CS 113 class. I tend to like basic computer science, and this entry course to Java suited me well.
