Kevin Lombardo

KevinKevin Lombardo is a freshman currently commuting to NJIT. He has lived in New Jersey all his life but moved twice before entering high school. 2008 was the most exciting year because it consisted of graduating from Fair Lawn High School, a four day class trip to Virginia, and an amazing senior prom night. Kevin’s favorite things to do in the summer are skateboard, skim board, soccer, and go to the beach. His winters consist of Dunkin Donut’s hot chocolate and video games.

Major/Graduation Year:

Electrical Engineering / 2012

Hometown:

Fair Lawn, New Jersey

Why NJIT?

NJIT is the most education and simultaneously cheapest tech school within a half hour drive.

Why Electrical Engineering?

Electrical Engineering has always been fascinating and brought upon many questions as to “how” and “why”. NJIT will definitely help me answer those questions.

What do you like best at NJIT?

Perks of NJIT consist of small classrooms and a small campus that has friendly and helpful staff and even students.

Why Connections Miniversity?

CMV is my chance to make a few dollars in my pocket to make up for some gas used getting to NJIT each semester. Also, since I am living on campus next semester, half off the price is a huge help for me and my family. The final reason is that I had so much fun and learned a lot at my Miniversity and therefore would like to contribute in giving that to incoming freshman.

Clubs & Organizations:

I am the secretary of the ECE club.

Greatest Accomplishment:

My greatest accomplishment was building a hydraulic, movable “arm” that can lift object and move them across a table and entering the TSA competition during my senior year.

Career Goals:

My goal is to get a job working for Nintendo, designing and building internal systems for controllers for new systems.

Favorite Music:

My favorite music ranges from completely and utterly annoying screaming, which most consider “emo”, to loud and obnoxious death metal. Usually anything with a beat will get me to dance but if I hear a sick guitar solo my head is going to headbang.

Favorite Movie:

My favorite movie cannot be decided on but is a close tie between Saw, Drumline, Sixth Sense, Disturbia, Fight Club, Just Friends, Shoot em’ Up, 40 Year Old Virgin, Anchorman, and Forest Gump. Some new favorites are Slumdog Millionaire, Taken, Eagle Eye, and Friday the 13th.

Favorite Book:

I’m not a big reader, I always enjoyed seeing a story over sitting and taking days to read one but my favorite book that kept my focus through the whole thing was Lovely Bones which I read in my senior year English class.

Favorite Class:

This may come off as strange but my absolute favorite class is any type of math; calculus to be specific.
