Michael Hamfeldt
MichaelMichael Hamfeldt is a freshman majoring in Electrical Engineering. He has lived in Morristown, New Jersey all of his life, graduating from Morristown High School in 2008. For this coming Connections Miniversity year, he will be part of the video committee.

Major/Graduation Year:

Electrical Engineering/2012

Hometown:

Morristown, NJ

Why NJIT?

I chose NJIT because of its location and cost. It was far enough away that I could stay on campus but close enough that I could go home when I needed to. As far as cost NJIT is probably one of the best values around for such a great education.

Why Electrical Engineering?

I chose electrical engineering because it’s the study of technology and a smaller scale, as in the inner workings of technology. I want to know exactly how things work down to each component.

What do you like best at NJIT?

The best part about NJIT is the fact that it’s a small campus where everyone is close. In some colleges you can get lost in sea of people there but at NJIT you get a chance to know most of the people on campus.

Why Connections Miniversity?

I chose to be a part of Connections Miniversity because I had a good experience with it when I attended and I wanted to make sure it stays that way.

Clubs & Organizations:

I’m involved in WJTB Radio, I’m the President of the TV Station, which is still in its starting stages, I am the chairman of the programming committee for Redwood Hall Council, and I’m involved in ECE Club which is a club for computer and electrical engineers.

Greatest Accomplishment:

My greatest accomplishment is attaining the rank of Eagle Scout in Boy Scouts. It is something that will stay with me forever and I will always be proud of it.

Career Goals:

My main career goal is to get a job as soon as I get out of college and to invent something that radically changes technology hopefully involving the energy crisis that we face today.

Favorite Music:

My favorite type of music is Rock and Alternative. Some of my favorite bands are Rise Against, 3oh!3, and Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Favorite Movie:

My favorite recent movie is Role Models; I thought it was a great comedy. I also loved the Dark Knight. The only type of movie I really don’t like is horrors.

Favorite Book:

My favorite book is probably Tuesday’s With Morrie because it’s the only book ive willingly read twice.

Favorite Class:

My favorite class this semester is Physics 121 which is the study of electrostatics and magnetism.
